Digital Citizenship
Digital citizenship
In School District 46, our students will have the digital literacy skills to enhance and communicate their learning and responsibly navigate technology.
As a Digital Citizen, students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model ways that are safe, legal and ethical (ISTE Standards for Students).
We are guided by the principles in the BC Digital Literacy Framework, where Digital Literacy is defined as the interest, attitude and ability of individuals to use digital technology and communication tools appropriately to access, manage, integrate, analyze and evaluate information, construct new knowledge and create and communicate with others. Here are our local SD46 Digital Guidelines
resources for Parents & Teachers
Media Smarts is a Canadian not for profit organization for digital and media literacy. We use these resources in all our classrooms to teach critical thinking skills and there are many resources here for parents to support your young Digital Citizen at home.
